BackgroundCheck.Run is a people search website that provides detailed background checks, just as its name suggests. The reports it offers can include a wide range of personal information, such as aliases, date of birth, family member details, home and email addresses, phone numbers, social media profiles, property ownership records, and employment history. In addition, the site may display sensitive legal and financial details like bankruptcies, liens, civil judgments, and criminal convictions. Essentially, if it's available in public records, BackgroundCheck.Run may include it in a report. Because of the amount of personal data it can expose, it's important to be aware of this site and consider opting out if you’re concerned about your privacy.

  1. Navigate to BackgroundCheck.run’s homepage and enter your information into the Find Information on Anyone box, and click search

  2. Find your listing and select your name

  3. In the new window, select the button that says Control this Profile

  4. On the next page, the profile URL will autofill. Enter your full name and email. Complete the CAPTCHA and hit Submit Opt Out Request

  5. Open your email and select the email sent to you. Hit the verification link provided.

  6. Your confirmation of opt-out will then appear; your information has now been removed
