Before diving into how a website like MyLife collects your personal information or how to remove that data from it, let's first explore what MyLife is all about. Originally known as Reunion.com, MyLife started with the goal of helping people reconnect with their former schoolmates after graduation. Nowadays, MyLife has transformed into a website that acts as an “information broker.” This means it collects and shares personal information about individuals. MyLife gathers data that is publicly available, using sources like public records and social media. From this information, it creates profiles for almost everyone, which can include details such as your name, age, home address, phone number, email, work history, and even pictures or family information. The site claims to have information on over 325 million people! MyLife operates on a free and paid subscription model, allowing users to choose what kind of information they want to access. It also provides a feature where users can rate and comment on these profiles. While the website presents itself as a social network, its main focus is on collecting and sharing information rather than helping people connect directly with each other. MyLife positions itself as a way to increase safety for businesses and consumers by presenting this information in an easy-to-use format.
